TALEA Bryant Park is Open!
More than a year after first viewing the space, TALEA Bryant Park is open!
In summer 2022, we had a very successful pop-up at the iconic former Cafe Centro beer bar on the corner of 45th Street and Vanderbilt. Towards the end of the summer, we started to seriously look for a long-term home in Midtown. We found 22 West 40th Street with our brokers and loved the high ceilings, big windows, and open floorplan. Having a space co-located with neighbors like La Pecora Bianca, Lady M cakes, Blue Bottle, and Heritage Bakery was ideal. We know that midtown customers are looking for a reprieve from the chaos of tourists, taxis, and subway traffic.
Our Press Release for this taproom is below:
On Tuesday, December 19th, we opened New York City’s first and only women-owned craft brewery TALEA Beer Co opens their fourth taproom, a 74-seat, 1,650 sq ft space overlooking Bryant Park.
Similar to its West Village & Brooklyn counterparts, the Bryant Park taproom features bright variations of TALEA’s signature jewel tones including greens, pinks, oranges, and purples for a pop of color amidst the midtown concrete jungle. Designed by Alda Ly Architecture, the space is a contemporary take on the beer garden blended with an “old New York” Art Deco style and features soaring arches and layers of texture and color. Located on the ground floor of the Park Terrace Hotel and across from the park itself, TALEA Bryant Park offers both a new spot for Midtown happy hours and a fun place to pop into for tourists alike.
The all-day TALEA Bryant Park experience includes espresso, light bites, and free Wifi, while guests can also expect a full menu of small grower wines, classic cocktails, non-alcoholic options, cheese boards, and other shareable plates to complement TALEA’s growing list of draft beers.
For their two Manhattan openings (TALEA West Village opened in October), the company tapped an all female team for the thoughtful design and construction of both spaces. Each taproom reflects the unique history and communities of their respective neighborhoods while also celebrating the colorful nature, spirit of inclusivity and playful aspect of the TALEA brand. Woman- and minority-owned architecture and design firm, Alda Ly Architecture, known for past projects that focus on empowering women and creating dedicated female-forward spaces [Tia, The Wing, Parsley Health], spearheaded architecture and interior design for both spaces, with women-owned contracting firm Aerial Design + Build [Dante West Village, Sona] orchestrating construction.
“One of the elements that sets TALEA taprooms apart is the welcoming environment that offers a multi-functional space - whether our guests need an inspiring environment for a business meeting, a cozy corner for a date, or an uplifting room for a milestone birthday,” said Tara Hankinson, Co-Founder, TALEA. “We’re grateful for the support from our guests and wholesale customers that has enabled us to rapidly expand to Manhattan.”
